Chiromancy or Palmistry:

Fortune tellers study the palm and predict the events of the future. The lines on the insides of the palm depict each aspect of your life such as education, marriage, family life, work etc. Depending on the length of these lines and curves that these lines take along their path up to the point where they end, fortune tellers are able to determine the events and their impact on your life at the time of their occurrence. Finger prints, shape of the palm and colour and texture of the skin are also used as predicting factors by fortune tellers. Modern fortune tellers classify the palm shapes as air hands, water hands, fire hands and earth hands.

Air hand : Rectangular or square palms with long fingers. Knuckles protrude and the thumb is low set.
Earth hand : Square shaped hands. The length of the fingers is same as the length of the palm.
Water Hand : This type is characterised by a long palm. The fingers are long and the length of the palm is less than the length of the fingers.
Fire hand : This is characterised by short fingers with a fat palm.
Lines of the palm:
• Heart line : This line runs from the palm’s edge towards the point where the fingers end. Fortune tellers study this line to interpret the matters of the heart both from the perspective of health as well as love. It is said to be indicative of the person’s love life as well as cardiac health in his lifetime.
• Head line : The head line begins from below the index finger below the heart line. Fortune tellers consider this finger to determine the way a person’s brain works. Depending on how strong his analytical and creative skills are, such a prediction can also be useful in making career choices.
• Life line : Depicts the longevity of the individual. It also is suggestive of the events that will change a person or bring sudden joy or grief. Fortune tellers can also make predictions on the general health of the individual. There is however some amount o controversy regarding the life line being used as an indicator to determine the longevity of the person. Life line is one of the most controversial lines in the field of palmistry.
• Sun line is indicative of scandal or fame.
• Girdle of Venus indicates emotional intelligence and manipulative nature.
• Travel lines, other markings such as triangles, crosses, squares, Apollo lines mercury lines, union lines etc are lines which are studies by fortune tellers to determine certain aspects of your life.

Palmistry from being considered as an art possessed only by psychics in early ages is now becoming a subject of mainstream study. It must be understood that chiromancy is no psychic ability or mystic intelligence. Chiromancy like any other subject can be studied and mastered by practice.
